hi folks.
So i'm back on with the wiring stuff fitting a new headlight switch.
I'm going off that usefull drawing that was posted up, but i've got an extra wire on my switch, a green one and i'm not sure where it's supposed to go?
Also, the headlight has come with an earth lead with a bullet type connector, where does that go/

Thanks.

should go where that white earth is on kev's picture; but often not the best earth through the rim, so I generally discard the wire on the rim, and make a better connection as per the pic eg to gearchange rod clamp bolt.

Byron,
Thanks for the reply.
At the risk of sounding like a complete muppet, do you mean bin the earth lead on the headlight then make up a new lead to go from bulbholder to clamp bolt?

Thanks.

If it's a trapezoidal type switch with a green wire, then you've probably been sold an Indian GP indicator switch not an LI one (ebay dealers know this, but don't care). These need modifying to work on a standard machine but will work on an electronic by swapping the connections around at the bulb holder. If you're not going to send it back and want to use it, I'll send you a redrawn diagram.

Ok so i've just put the earth lead on and.... nothing!
It actually appeared to be earthing the scoot out and now it won't start!! ( got real problems starting it)
Anyway, yes it's one off ebay like this
The old original switch had 7 wires, the new on has 8 with one stray green wire which has got voltage to it.
I'm not a complete f#####t but it's my first scoot and i've been scratching my head at a lot of things, the majority of stuff comes from 'dealers' who send out stuff which is not the right fit/incomplete/wrong or the instuctions are useless!

So new diagram would be very handy.
For info the rear light is on permanantly, is that correct? The horn works but the headset switch doesn't turn the rear light on or off, it comes on when it starts :wtf:

Many thanks.
