quality tyres, tubeless rims, hydrolic front brake, halogen front light , adjustable rear suspension , comfy seat , sorted front suspension , ducatti regulator and CDI unit theres loads more AHH u mean the engine 8-) .......no point really unless the chassis and and elec/ ign system is sorted
depends on how much money you have or wanna spend could just be an engine strip and partial rebuild with new gasket , mabe seals, bearings, crank, clutch, endplate shim, squish check, relace cheap chain ,check piston to bore clearance , the list is endless really with an import thats why i never paid more than £1400 for mine newley restored 10 months ago .

standard as it left the factory, or if you must TS1 with lowered timings, taffy pipe 30mm carb and long gearing

i agree ian :D (tis why i bought a dragster  ) when i rallied my nova some boys had hi spec engines (200+hp) but ended up in the weeds ,mine was a standard 2.0 astra 8v engine with throttle bodies pushin out around 150 hp but i finished all but one comp and that was becouse i had 2 punctures that shreded the tyres, to win you have to finish
max id say do is match the manifolds and change to a proper clubman , but check squish and clearance of piston and reset timing to 19 deg run in for 1500 using mineral oil the swap to fully synth but keep an eye/ear on the big end ,bearings, seals and chain also check the clutch sprocket for execive movement and check endplate clearance and threadlock everything in place once happy , none of that is as sexy as a big kit/carb/pipe im afraid but there nothing sexy about braking down or trailering it home ,one more thing if you light enough you migh get away with a 19t front sprocket

Got to agree with shocky, You cant beat a good standard 200 for touring well set up they give good MPG (better than my 225 Rapido) Set up properly they can be ridden hard all day never fast but reliable.... :)

standard barrel taken to 70mm 60 mm mec crank, standard head squished to 1.2 mb manifold and 24mm mikuni plus ancilotti clubman.

standard engine is nice but is half the cc it needs to be so take it to 230 ish and it helps get up the hills and maintains speed
