Lake Lambrettas, spares for Lambrettas on the IW, not V*spa!

Have a service, product or something to share with the members of Scooterotica?

Just to let you know that I'm here on the IW all year round, not just for the Bank Holiday.

If you're planning on an extended stay on the IW and get stuck for spares (all the other fly-by-nights  will have made their money and b*ggered off back to North Island) give me a ring, 07759614608.

I won't be doing any repairs over the weekend, I'll leave that to the overners (see above) as I shall be out and about.

Denis

PS I wouldn't get away with advertising on the LCGB site but obviously it's ok on here. :D

PPS Just to clarify the V*spa thing, I've only ever been interested in and had, Lambrettas, from 1968. V*spas do nothing for me at all I'm afraid, therefore I only deal with Lambrettas.

It is as long as you a) post in the right section (dealers) and b) contribute something to the forum other than adverts........which im sure you intend to do so.

ps - probably best not to refer to other dealers as fly-by-nights.

It was a joke, I did have a big grin after the fly-by-nights

And how come the other post hasn't been moved? The one that refers to IOW repair stall? I'd be interested to know what the difference is.

So are you going to move it back to where it was then or am I not one of the favoured ones?

Well if that's what you think of our island all I can say is thank goodness for small mercies.

The shadow topic is still in the other forum, this is where your post should be, this is where its staying. The other post is in this section too, thanks for pointing the moderators oversight out to us.

Denis, Ive spent a lot of time on "your" island over the last 30 years, I have had family there and still have good friends there, Ive spent enough time there during the off season to know how depressing the place can get, s**t, I knew 2 people who committed suicide after living on the island for a short time!

I used the term "isle of shite" in a light hearted manner though and meant no offence, this weekend is "your" islands big weekend, enjoy it, personally the rally isn't what it used to be for me so I would rather avoid the disappointment.
It will take more than that to offend me, I've probably said worse than that about the place myself. I can well understand someone coming to live on the island and getting depressed, but if they felt that way why didn't they go back to where they came from? You can't blame the island for that. I think born and bred islanders grow up knowing the pluses and minuses of living on an island, any island. To be honest the most annoying 'overner' is the one that comes to live here and then starts moaning about how difficult it is to get off; my answer to that is p**s off back to where you came from.

Fair enough if it's not for you, they do say that familiarity breeds contempt. Perhaps it's not as you would like it to be because so many people have jumped on the bandwagon, who knows.

Anyway, this morning I've been to the parts fair at Smallbrook and picked up some old parts. I made a point of seeking out the Scooter Techniques tent and had a good natured chat to the chaps in there about their post on here. Ian came over and introduced himself, so now we can put faces to names.
