rear fixed toolbox

Nah, condensation wouldn't be a problem. A vent to somewhere dry would be pretty easy.

I remember some years ago someone making up a metal box with a lid that went on the battery tray. I think it was Jimmers, but I'm not sure.

Ta, for me this looks like a really good idea. I run a spare wheel inside the leggies so therefore a leggy tool box is no good. Sometimes struggle getting Putoline bottles in the toolbox so the abilty to get 2 litres of oil or one litre and some of the larger tools is a real bonus. To be honest id probably padd it out for a spare oil bottle and some tools which would free up space to get the putoline in..... :D

The only down side seems to be that you would have to take approx 5 nuts off which all seem quite accesible....
