Below is the blurb for the new SIP lambretta digital speedo. No i dont know when its coming out either... :? maybe someone can help with that ;) anyway i digress, iv highlighted a sentence below. Im reading this as saying data can be sent digitally as well (eg speed via sensor on hub) as opposed to using the worm drive....

Am i reading this right or is this just wishful thinking on my part.... :D

"Quick and easy installation. Speed measurements are made in the same manner as the original, requiring no additional sensors. Data reception can also be directed through the lighting. The SIP rev counter can be installed in the same manner as original speedometers. All data is recorded on internal database"

Wishful thinking methinks, but I don't see the problem with the cable speedo, I think they've done their homework ;-)

That sounds like German English-ese for ' rev counter is activated via pulses in the lighting circuit'
To me?

SIP just emailed me to say that they will not be out on 23/8 but will "take a little longer"

dummkopfs.
They are p*ssing me off by repeatedly delaying my order, they keep asking 'do I want the oil seperately?' and I have told them 3 times now: no! -send it all immediately it comes in.
Still, I'd rather it was tested properly and reliable, so I guess we'll have to wait.

they'd better keep their fingers crossed no one else makes anything as good in the meantime as they'll lose a lot of sales otherwise!

I don´t think the speedos will be tested a lot, they use the same technique as the vespa ones.

i saw one of the prototypes (SIP is in my hometown), but i don´t think they deliver want i want from a digital speedo.... i hope the MB ones will do it better, still got one lying around.

I thought the MB one was ok-ish, but the SIP one is far superior.

All I want is: speed, miles, revs, cht temp (egt temp would be good too ideally) and a 24 hr clock, all backlit.

Who knows, i suspect not as someone on here would have posted by now. You would think someone from SIP would give an update thats what the dealer section is for after all. And i thought the germans were efficient......... :D
