help please, i have just put a new cruciform in a px 125 disc (flat type) everything seems fine riding, from neutral to first to fourth etc except when i go from 4th back up box it is a barsteward to the point of almost stalling. going one way through gears fine. but coming back just not having it really stiff, clutch seems to be engaging good, gear cables seem ok. just wondering if anyone has had this before any comments and advice welcome its doing me head in  starting to think i know nothing (probably true) oh i have taken the selector box off and all seems ok on cables but the pushrod does offer some resistance but not sure what i am suposed to be feeling apart from f@@£3d off.

I'd put money on it being a cable problem . Often when they start to fray they work great in one direction but not the other .

it was clutch, steels warped (obvious now  )

nearly run, in really pleased running standard carb 20/20 delly with race crank standard gears px 125, matched crankcase to kit 166 molossi and simini exhaust thinking now 24mm delly
read a few bad reviews for the spaco carb are that bad? but genuine dellorto seems hatd to come by missed a few on ebay  is there much differance between t5 24mm and p2 24mm carbs,
and lastly any sugestions on a good exhaust or will the simi be enough sugestions please.

Den, this can be a serious problem.......
take a long hard look at your cruciform, at first glance it could look like an "x" whereas really it should look like a "+"
If you arrange it so that it looks like a "+" as opposed to an "X" with at least one of the legs perpendicular to the horizontal axis then I can guarantee that it is not upside down!

Oh and flat type has no washer!Image

I'd say a crimped/snagged cable.

Have you tried adjusting your selector, one cable might be pulling ok, to get you up the gears but the other might be slack causing poor gear engagment coming down the gears?
