rear hydraulic disc

Anything related to Lambrettas... ask tech questions, post helpful info, or just read and learn.

is it worth all the time trouble and money fitting
a rear hydraulic disc,already have a front hydraulic
set up,are thet more of a gimmick or do they
actually warrant spending a lot of money on
them,your thoughts would be appreciated

anyone can buy a dremel, but does that make them a scooter tuner

I've got one and had nothing but problems with it , works well enough when i finally fettled all the parts to make it fit !!!!! but wasn't the straight forward fitting it was advertised as. :moon:
Has a mind full of useless s**t and isn't afraid to use it !

I will be interested in this as they seem a hell of a lot of money and ive not heard great feedback on them?

I personally am waiting for the rear drum hydraulic set up to be perfected with the use of a slave cylinder...

So what if you get a rear puncture...would it be a major roadside strip :!:

the following is just my personal oppinion....................
cosmetically......they look really trick................
but they cost a lot.................
they can also be a real pain to get set up and work...........,sometimes the braking efficiency of these is not as good as a drum.....................
if,and when these work better..........you,ll find it locks up to much and produces a rear wheel skid...............worse in that respect than a drum.............. :lol:
tyre changing can also be a real prob................of course.

IMO the braking efficiency is better than the drum and you just have to get used to the disc way of braking and not being so hard with the right foot. Changing the rear wheel takes longer but you just loosen the swinging arm bolt and undo the stub axle bolt and swing it clear , if i could get mine to stop over heating i would be happy with it.

i dont see the point in them if your drum works ok
i had a bloke decide to do a u turn in front of me this morning :shock: hit the brakes, rear locked up, and skidded. brown trousers time. :oops:
a disc would have done the same job.
I have a disc on the front and these are well worth it.
So unless your in to your bling i wouldnt bother.
When i was young my Mom said "if you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing at all " ..................... and people wonder why I'm quiet around them !

Gotta agree with Carlos, if the drum is set up right it's easy to lock the back end up. Front's a different kettle of fish, don't think I'd ever like to go disc-less on the front ever again.

Get one of "Knowledge's" rear brake cables if you're struggling to adjust the rear to work properly.

i took the time trouble n money too competly design my own on my super s type evo,and at the end of the day if you can lock the back end wot more can you want!....it was an engineering exercise too me!but i wouldnt do it again....stick too a drum working effectivly
