I have two scooters that i am rebuilding, one is a S3 Li & the other an SX150.

The SX150 will be getting an MB race tour 195 kit, GP type Race Crank, Delorto 28 PHBH Carb, AF 5 plate clutch, Variatronic Kit & a Race Tour expansion.

The Li will get the the old barrel, crack, clutch & exhaust from the SX with a rebored piston as I heat seized the 175 kit on the SX!

I have three questions relating to the gears, I have heard & experienced the SX gears not being overly good.

1/ Can I simply replace the SX gearbox with the Li150 gears I have set aside.
2/ Will the SX gears go into the Li
3/ Will I need to change over the layshaft & sliding dog for both?

Gear cogs and Xmas tree can be swapped AS A UNIT from bike to bike.

The layshaft etc is common to both bikes so can be left

You may get away with using the sliding dog in the first picture (SX150), but there is a little wear in the selector finger tips, whereas, this is much worse on the fingertips in the second picture. Both layshafts look fine. Replace the sliding dog from the Li150.

Thanks Dapper,

I have a new Sliding Dog for the SX, so I will donor the on off the SX to the Li's.

Should I keep them all as a "Unit" like Chris mentioned with the cogs & tree?

Yes, the cogs and tree for each gearbox need to stay together. They won`t mesh otherwise.
