Dog leg levers

Just fitted a new clutch with the MB springs,and its a damn site harder to pull the clutch in now with standard levers (good clutch though).Anyone got any experiencing of these http://www.lambrettaspares.com/sparepar ... 0696K.html £52.80 for a set or these at £20.90 a set http://lambretta.co.uk/catalog/product_ ... ts_id=6066 .To be honest (age is a terrible thing) I've got a touch of arthritis in my hands and I think the dog legs will be easier but don't want to spend 30 odd quid more for something that does the same thing,both reputable dealers whom I have bought stuff off,so any feedback would be appreciated or are there other good alternatives (dealer wise).Thank you,Dave

Bought these from Bedlam scooters the other year, lynx levers very good quality and still going strong,i paid £13.70 at the time but not sure what they are now...there on line shop is down at the minute so this is the direct line:01234 327555

As the lever is the same length(or more accurately how far along your fingers are) then the force required is the same, surely? Dog leg levers allow longer travel of the cable ensuring enough separation of the plates.

I have MB springs in one of my Lamys and MB plus PX springs in the other and only a dog leg on the six plate. Neither are at all hard to pull back the lever as both have nylon lined cables, which along with ensuring the correct cable routing is the real secret to an easy clutch operation.

I agree with Mag, I fitted a set of Taffspeed uprated springs and found the clutch action WAY too stiff for comfortable use. I tried a set of cheap dogleg levers but as stated, the leverage is exactly the same as standard. The MB ones are longer and my clutch is now very light.

I found that both MB and Scootrs dog leg clutch levers, allow less cable travel than a standard innocenti lever, but you can pull the clutch easy beacuse they are closer to the handlebar grip.

Thank you everyone for your replies.The cable is friction free & the routing is all OK (no kinks) and is the same routing as before I changed the springs (it was OK then but had clutch slip,took the springs out and they were fecked),but with these springs I just feel that its bloody hard work going up and down the gears around town,open road no problem but maybe that's the compromise,certainly haven't got clutch slip any more.I think I'm going to invest in a set and hopefully they wont be a case of style over substance.Again thank you all for your feedback

I need to put vespa springs over my lambretta ones but know nothing about vespas... are the px ones the correct ones to use? if so is there a specific year i need to get or are they all the same? Any ideas on where to buy them greatly apreciated...
