What is an ideal clearance between wide small end bearing and piston, side to side?
How come phonetics isn't spelt with an 'f'?

To quote 'Complete Spanner's book 1' page 81

There should be no more than 1mm space either side of the bearing/shim combination that you intend to fit.
Old Lambretta's never die, they get tuned..................
