Got a Li 125 engine casing, gonna change Mag and driveside bearings and fit a GP crank.
Remember reading in Stickys book something about needing to replace the bearing collar on the crank
when fitting a GP crank. Anyone tell me if that`s right. I`ve probably got that wrong, I get a
lot of things wrong...
Fitting GP Crank
If I understand what your asking, you should replace with the new one that comes with the bearing.

Li cranks have a bearing collar, when changing to GP crank and bearings you dont need the collar as the gp bearings are wider. However read Stickys manual again, as like you, I get alot of things wrong

djh66 has just thrown a confusion in. The part he is referring to is the spacer that goes in the mag with the bearing and seals. You will not require this with a GP set-up.
You seem to be referring to the bearing collar. If you are fitting a new crank and bearing. The bearing inner, is the collar, and needs to be fitted to the crank.

Cheers for the replies.
Just re-read Stickys book and if i`ve got this right then if i buy a GP200 NU2205
bearing, disregard the mag spacer the GP crank will fit without any modifications.
Is that right ?

I am nearly positive(not looking at it this moment) that I have just pulled an untouched Innocenti GP crank out of a 150DL that runs a NU 205(SX/Li) type bearing. If this was fitted with a GP(NU2205) the would be an overlap of the rollers, with a couple of mm of the rollers not touching the inner race. The seal shoulder on this Inno. GP crank is longer than a later? GP crank. 150-200 difference I think. Don't have a Stickies, so someone will surely correct me#1GP200 wrote:Cheers for the replies.

I may be wrong on this but my understanding of it is this GP 125 uses li/sx nu205 were as GP 150 - 200 uses nu2205.
You mite have a GP 125 crank in your 150 from new.
The difrence is in the GP 125 crank were the sleave of the bearing go's on is longer like an li/sx hence the nu205.
I am happy to be corected on this cos i am not 100%.
Cheers Al

Scream at me until my ears bleed
When I stripped down an unmolested dl150 it didn't have the GP 200 crank.
I was expecting it to have had and I had bought the bearings to match the GP 200.
I bought a MEC EUR GP 200 crank and I'm sure its as Al describes with the nu205.
