This has been going on for a while - the man you're talking about invented pistons and without his products we'd all be riding round on camels.

Who holds the scooterotica Key.....Dan does! ;0)
WHat got me going was the facebook site basically saying dave webster had no idea about tuning cast cylinders , and that his consistantly put out mor power, well the funny thing is i have one of his cylinders in the shed from the mid 80s, suzuki 185 stage 5 and it is a direct copy from the webster manual, read his tuning pages it is full of ,next he will be having a shot at mr edmunds, but i think he has been left well behind there.
With due respect he does knock out some good gear there is no doubting that
But he needs to lose the " I am " complex

I think the original poster has got the wrong end of the stick with what he had seen on facebook.
Websters work was mentioned because it is published and a lot of people follow it even though it is 20+ years old and has not been updated. Since Webster retired a lot of people have been doing a lot of development on Lambretta barrels.
It would be interesting to know what Webster would be doing now if he was still doing lambrettas.
What could have been an interesting debate has turned into a bit of a sniping session.
