Decided to think abouty longevity of my engines so started to use a fuel filter (HFF200 Halfords £3.89 large and see through) together with Ram air filters and Cam Lams breathe easy

very apprehensive as a lot of engines on smaller carbs have had the joie de vivre removed from them

quite surprised, they work very well, seat of the pants testing suggests miminal loss of power and the RB still hits the same top speed as prior didnt have time for the TS1

now wondering why i havent used them in the past

nb breathe easy does fit a TMX35 and with jimmers TS1 manifold will fit behind a GP panel

hey david, well thats the big question. ran a ram air filter on my muggy for about the 8k mark with no probs at all untill it blew up! head gasket i must add
that old turd i took to sweden had ram iar on it
they dont make any difference if jetted right as my muggy flew

so why dont we all use them thats the big question??

dave just a little thing

i have a few of those metal case filters with the metal air bubble filter in side that are cleanable
can carry a spare with you for the long journeys and will no doubt outlast the plastic version you have there

only a couple more quid too.

available most places

thanks david, im looking for a more refined motor, i did only about 1500 miles last year on an imaculate motor but using an open breathing carb and curley pipe it looks as filthy as yours :o so im putting an end to it with luck. i dont clean my scooters either so im trying for a prevention rather than cure aproach.

i want it quiter too.

jimmers do you manifolds come with differant sizes of rubbers? 30 mm mikunis and 35s use differant size rubbers.
