Timing?

Help , honda 205 stage 4 new fly wheel and stator going on , what do i set the timing at? cheers lammer205.

18 degrees,if you haven't got a strobe just retard stator,ie turn it clockwise as far as you can...
then buy a strobe gun to check it properly.

Chris no idea on compression, but i'm gonna set timing using positive stop method from Stickys book, but i tried to hollow out a spark plug yesterday not so easy :shock: , lammer205.

if your doing it like that its easier just to put a screw driver down the plug hole , but remember there is a small amount of dwell either side so try and get the middle or you could be out on the timing by a couple of degrees either way, its not the best way nor very accurate better to take head off and use a dial gauge , you can then use the dial gauge to set timing in mm again more accurate than a disc on the flywheel.
