Seals went so hopefully gonna replace tonight thing is, i only have the oven to heat the housing in and was thinking that as i'd be heating the whole housing, when i put the first seal in before i drop my freezered bearing in, will that not distort the seal with the heat? And also how hot doe's it need to be would warm do the job? cheers Lammer205.

I do mine at gas mark 6 for 5 mins :D the inner seal does'nt get hot enough to get damaged, then i hold it in my lap on a thick towel with some heavy duty gloves and drift it home gently.

it can get quite hot without damaging the seal.
before fitting the seal, i heat them on the electric oven ring for a few minutes, then the frozen bearing will generally just drop into place, with a single tap to make sure it's home.

get all your drifts and components ready before you start. I'm always searching for the right size as the housing or whatever is cooling down... and i have been pleased with how the bearing has gone in, then realised i'd left the spacer out...
