I had on Saturday a big hole on my piston on my Muggy 200 (my fault, blown exhaust gasket  ), so now i need a great touring kit which should have a great torque and should work with my Tm24 and ADS3 pipe and 4.4 gearing.
My preferences are on the RT (too pricey) or Mugello 225 (don't want again that big spit-back and lack of torque).
So which one do you suggest?
I also want to fit a 60 mm or 62 mm crank (do i need to modify the case to accept it?).
Thanks

For the cranks. 60mm will be ok, but 62mm up needs the casing's modified with a groove for the rods to rotatre properly as far as I'm aware.

Edit: Forgot to add my usual disclaimer.

Anything I put usually is corrected later with the right info.

I'm putting an engine together with a Mugello 225, 60 x 116 crankshaft with suitable TS piston, LTH reed valve, TM24 Mikuni, ADS3 exhaust, Li 150 box with 18 x 47 cogs for 4.4 final drive. Once I've built it up I'll take it to someone who knows about port heights etc. Just a bit worried that the 60 crank will make the port timings revvier but it's an early Muggy with the head inset so using a normal head may offset that. 125 degrees this and 160 degrees that means feck all to me but I know a man who (well several) who does understand all that. A frugal motorway mile muncher being the order of the day, genuine 65 mph at 6,000 revs and 70 mpg the aim.

I'm going to buy an RT 225 kit wit a 60 stroke crank. Gearbox pacemaker 19x46 and 5 plate clutch.
Hope to have more or less 18hp but with a bag of torque.
Anybody using RT kits?

I'd hang on a while. There's likely to be a glut of them on ebay when the Ron Moss kit comes out.

Why would that be?

The blurb (and I doubt that someone like Ron Moss would tell lies, like various other tuners) says they do over 80mph up the quarter mile, on a box pipe, with enough torque to pull a 4.4 final drive. For five hundred quid.
There's a thread every ten minutes on here asking how to make (kit of choice) more suitable for touring. The answer is sell it and buy a kit MADE for high gearing.

Voila!
