anyone want to build me a glovebox?

for a GP.
Basically I've bought no less than 3 gloveboxes recently which are not suitable for what I want (bah).
(If anyone would like a slimline fibreglass chiselspeed copy of a nannuci complete and ready to fit £90 and a metal PX mark 2 adapted to fit bare metal £80 - both plus post).

Anyway what I want is:
Rally/Px/Pe/GS type toolbox to fit a Lambretta Gp legshields made in metal (pref) although I will consider fibreglass/CF.
Must have space to mount 2 x 50mm diameter gauges one either side of the central tube, would prefer this to mount using the existing horn/mudguard fixing screws.
Basically the layout from L-R will be CHT/Rev counter gauge (koso 8k 50mm diam) switch, fuel warning indicator lamp, <central tube bulge> battery indicator lamp, EGT gauage (Westach 50mm diameter).

I suspect the Mark 1 or 2 Px/e would be better than the other two as it has more room as the door doesn't come over the top.

I have tried the scootRS type in the past and I really don't want to have to spend months fettling with the damn thing to get it to fit!
or for it to look like a boy scouts backpack (ie lumpy, and large!)

So: can anyone make me or suggest someone who can supply something that WILL fit?
I rather like the nanucci metal copies but I haven't got £325 to throw at it!

Try Gran Sport in Birmingham. They had metal copies made by a proper old style panel beater. They aren't cheap but I don't think they're the £300 touch. Give Jason or Ash a call 0121 773 0706

hello its somthing i could do but would need your legshield as every one ive done before only fit on that set properly, the mk2 dosent look as nice but will give you more room, but i think you will get it all one a mk1 its just that the top is curved, you nrmally have to drill one hole to mount the top of the toolbox the bottom can come of exsiting fixings. let me know if your interested and i think ive got both types of toolbox

I've done one myself couple of weeks ago which I've made out of a Bajaj Chetak legshield tool box.
These are full metal and are huge in comparison to anything else. They can be bought for next to nothing because nobody really wants them. I fit it to my GP and looks like it's meant to be there.
I will admit it takes about an hour of fiddling but it is well worth it in the end.
The top side on mine will easily fit two 50mm guages.
I would however advise against using the horncasting bolts because the thread is very small and the horncast is aluminium. You would be better off drilling a couple of holes just below them and using big washers hidden behind the front mudguard, especially if you're going to be using the toolbox to actually store anything, like... tools?

I got mine off ebay around £70 i think, a little bit of a faff trimming it to fit but i guess nobodys legshields are going to have 100% the same profile, anyway it fits and im pleased:

One of the best things about tootling on your lonesome to a rally is 'thinking time'.
So:
I have a very nice chiselspeed fibreglass box.
It isn't big enough for the two gauges I want to fit.
I can actually get a westach dual egt/cht gauge so I only have to fit one (esp if I get the new SIP rev counter).
So:
I'm after a coast to coast screen, which I will adapt to fit and be moulded into the GP headset, accepting a moulded in 50mm 'hole' for the gauge: easy peasy.
and fit the lovely chiselspeed box.
