Im torn between repairing my ts1 or selling it and trying a rapido 250.
i like grunt, would prefer a large single four stroke of 4-500cc that would pull any gear if im to lazy to change down....or maybe a Buelle.....but niether are going to happen at the momement so im concidering the rapido 250 as its the nearest thing thats currently on the shelf.
what im interested to know is if the rapido 250 is that much better than the 225 with a 60mm stroke crank which would make 230 ish rather than 244 ish of the "250"
what kind of power and torque could be expected from either the 230 or the 250?
repair the ts1 or go for a rapido 250?
i own both and i say repair the ts1

http://www.sestuning.co.uk/lambretta-tuning.html try these for a TS1 250 if your barrel is past re plating. you get to run all your ts1 bits exhaust & carb and you only need the crank mouth opening same as the rapido 250
Has a mind full of useless s**t and isn't afraid to use it !
on what basis, im interested to hear a comparison between the two.mark wrote:i own both and i say repair the ts1

Repair the TS1 have 1.5mm skimmed from the bottom, fit a 60mm crank, use a 30mm carb with breathing sweet filter, and a Clubman pipe. You should have almost 18bhp and superb grunt from near tickover.
i bulit the ts as a fast bike and it is 83 mph gps'd before i bottled it. taffy road tune, chiselspeed 6 plate clutch ,taffy crank with long rod ,packer plate ,li150 16/46 , 35 mm tmx and pm
built the rapido as a tourer to pull a pav and do big miles 2 up and it does .stock 250 rebored cos clearances were too tight (1thou)readspeed 6 plate clutch,li 150 box 16/46 35mm tmx ,ancillotti pipe
only prob is the 250 will only do 65mph gps'd no more . i know its the pipe holding it back and i am now changing it but its no FUN

I used to run a race rapido 225 on my Li here before I switched to TS1
Spec was:
race rapido 225
MB racetour piston
60mm crank
30mm tmx
PM24 pipe
I literally just swapped top ends and put a JL3 on that I had
the net result was the TS1 had more low down torque and in general more power
I think your best bet is to use your TS1 and work it a bit for more torque
