Is the air scoop still needed if you are not using the air filter box, I know it's not feeding the carb directly but does it help, I have just fitted an Imola with a 30mm carb and almost finished but the air scoop catches on the seat so wondered if i can just take it off and blank the hole. Any thoughts ?

very late indian GP"s had a "mushroom" style scoop, just a round button type thing, open all round. i think ive got one kicking about . PM your address, and i"ll send it to ya. you could always leave a hole. doesnt affect it.
