Before I spend the day frustrated & wasted, I've a problem I don't get.

Bear with me, it's early and my brain hasn't fully downloaded yet.

Gear cables.

In the headset they are as they should be. The outers are sat in their slots in the headset clamp.

At the other end the outers are sat in the adjuster block properly.

So, I tighten the cables up, but once I try to put into gear they become loose at the adjuster block.

What the f@@k is going on here? It keeps happening.

And did you did the small washers underneath the grub screw in the trunion ?

If not its easy to think they are tight but the cable is still not fully clamped

Yes Fuming fella, washers used.

I'm just back in from messing with the gears and it seems better now. I think maybe a blend of new cables and paranoia. :D
