I have just purchased a frame / engine and several parts of Lambretta bodywork.
This is my first Lambretta and before i start to order parts i want to know what type of electrical system i have.
I am not electrically minded at all so i hope the question doesn't come across as stupid.
The engine i have is an LI150 and it has 3 wires coming from it, they are blue, yellow and white, which don't correspond to anything in Sticky's book. The only thing i do know is that the engine still has points, i need to know if i have 6v / 12v / battery / non-battery.
How can i find out?
What electrical system

If its got a battery fitted, then its battery:0 check the lamps and see if they are stamped with their voltage, which they should be. Does it have a battery tray fitted, and are there any unterminated leads close to it

Should have explained, the frame is bare with nothing attached.
All i have is a bare frame, a few body panels and an engine.
I need to get wiring loom, coils etc

It sounds like it will be a 6 volt system, you'll need to take tyhe flywheel off and trace where the wires go. Unless someone on here has knowlege of those wiring colours a photo of the stator posted on here will be enough for someone to tell you which is which.
Where abouts in Suffolk, I'm guessing Lowestoft or Yarmouth with that forum name

Thanks for replies,
I don't intend to change to electronic ignition or rebuild the engine as it was a reliable runner and at the minute i just want to build the bike. Electronic ignition will be an upgrade next winter if i get it finished for the summer.
Coaster, good guess, forum name is in honour of my local football teams nickname, Lowestoft Town.
