Seen these mentioned a few times of late and wondering just how good these are..?, was something in scootering a bit back so come on whos using them and are they really as good as they say they are and is it legal to use a blue bulb? I thought blue was only allowed for emergency vehicles...(blue was the one I looked at earlier on Readspeed site)..

I can't vouch for that type but I have converted both of my scoots to take an H4 lamp and run 55/60 Watt xenons which are a massive imnprovement over the normal 35/35 halogens. I have a standard 55/60 xenen in one and an OSRAM Nightbreaker in the other which is even better. It is necessary to fit an LED rear though to free up enough wattage though.

I use a yellow one ( only a slight tint TBH) and am very impressed with it although as Coaster says the H4 conversion is better but as a "plug in and play"option the Reedspeed bulbs are pretty good.Lam46 wrote:Seen these mentioned a few times of late and wondering just how good these are..?, was something in scootering a bit back so come on whos using them and are they really as good as they say they are and is it legal to use a blue bulb? the blue bulbs are ok and only give a slight tint when litLam46 wrote:Cheers mr, thats what i was hoping to hear..
you need to open up the bulb holder to accsept the bulb primeraly ,then you also need a three pin plug (common to most vehicles)to fit to the bulb but need to break of the collar from the bulb to fit to the j box/holder ,you then need to position the bulb to that the low beam fillament is in the same position as the standard buld to retain the focus on the reflector and glass ,you then need to figure out a method to retain the bulb in the holder ,
ps get a good quality holder as the heat will melt some
