Found this in gearbox oil...

Anything related to Lambrettas... ask tech questions, post helpful info, or just read and learn.

Not long bought this lammy.. Not ridden yet... Decided to do oil change tonight... And change the chaincase gasket.... This popped out along wi the oil... Nice oil otherwise... Its metal.. Or alloy.. Not sure.. It pieces together like this.. Is about 8mm high and 6 to 8 mm wide... What the hell can it be.. Any ideas folks... I don't wanna ride the scoot on finding this....

Cant really tell how big they are ? are they Drive Chain Shells or part of a bearing ? Have you had a look inside yet ?

Yes definitely looks like chain roller shells. Full strip down required.

Hi mate.. About 8 to 10 mm high.. 7 or 8mm wide... Not looked inside yet.. Will do tonight ta

Barrel piston and head too... Or just the chaincase?

Just chaincase, could be the thimble off your clutch, in that case it might be a simple case of replacing it.

It really does look like it is part of the duplex drive chain.

You should thoroughly inspect inside for more debris as well as check the existing chain.

If it has a Rolon chain fitted, do not use it again, would be my strong advice.
