I think you will have to strobe it as the standard timing marks are for a 57mm crank and your using a 60mm.

The one on the top I think is for a vacuum pump feed or a oil feed and should be blanked of.

Keihin 35mm air striker will not tick over
I have a problem, my vespa polini 231 runs great except it will not tick over, is extremely rich on tick over and hard to kick start. The tick over screw has no effect and is all the way in, I have gone from a 55 to a 48 pilot and it helped a little but runs to lean to keep it like that. Am I right ...

Mines reads between 190 and 200 on tick over but yours should rise instantly when you rev it.

I have run lots of different malossi set ups over the years and got bored of the way you have to ride them. Got my self a polini and it so much better to ride, makes riding it a joy, so much torque. And is the slide closed when returning from full throttle? only asking because I had the same symptoms and only cured it by putting in a stiffer throttle slide spring

A fuel pump is only required when you fit a biger carb that is sitting higher than the bottom of your petrol tank, you then run the risk of fuel starvation when your tank gets low. As your using a standard carb the a pump is a waiste of time and a lot of hassle to fit. It has nothing to do with perf...
