Hello all, am running a tm35(was),when it went bang was doing 70/75 overtaking on the motorway :biggrin: . It does concern me that there might be an underlying problem other than crap fuel that caused it to happen, as it looks like the barrell may need replating :cry: and a new piston so not gonna b...

Have been using standard unleaded with fully synthetic rock oil, me thinks that i'll be mainly using super unleaded in the future

Not sure what the timing was set at as john did all that at JB so would have thought it was set up ok and had never had ay problems before.

Hello all, Was wondering what are the possible causes of a holed piston, the engine is an RB230 which has done around 3600 miles ,was built by JB Tuning and has been running great, I filled up on my way to sandford at my local sainsburys and then around 5 miles down the road bang. have taken the bar...
