PX Disc mirror repair
Hi all, I have managed to break one of the handle bar mirrors on my PX disc. The glass is ok but the plastic shell has broken. I have a good spare but of course you can't fix it to the chromed stem because you can't get at the nut because the glass is in the way. Is there a way to remove the glass w...

Re: Vespa T5 Mk 1 standard colours
Hi all, Thanks for the replies on the T5 paint colours. Even though the scoot is green at the moment, it was originally blue so I am told. It is F registration which is about 1988. I still haven't seen it but it is all there and running with V5 etc. How much are these T5's worth now complete and run...

Vespa T5 Mk 1 standard colours
Hi,
I may have a chance to get a T5 Mk1 and would like to know what colours were available from new in 1985. This one apparently is green - not sure if that was a standard colour or not.
I haven't seen it yet but hope to in the next few days.
Cheers
Simon

Re: TV 175 Series 2 piston query
Hi Chris, Thanks for the quick reply. I have been on to our good friend Steve at Piston Broke to see if he has any oversize pistons in stock. He must be closed this week as I have tried to phone him and have sent an e-mail, but no real hurry really. I will get the cylinder to him once he or me has s...

TV 175 Series 2 piston query
Hi all, I have taken the piston out of my TV 175 and it is standard at 62mm diameter. It has 2 piston rings. The oversize pistons that I have seen for sale around the internet etc have 3 piston rings. I assume that a 3 ringed piston would be ok to use?? Any advice would be very welcome. Merry Christ...

Re: TV175 S2 CYLINDER KITS
Hi Max, How ya doin? I need to mix the mainstream with the obscure from time to time. This scoot engine has been on the to do list for a while, so while all is quiet on the "freaky front" I thought I would make a start over the Christmas break. Please point me in the direction of the Casa ...

Re: TV175 S2 CYLINDER KITS
It will be a totally standard set-up ie - TV crank long - con rod, 23mm old style carb, standard exhaust etc etc, so just a good quality standard kit would be just the job. The scoot is in very original condition and I don't want to detract from the state it is in. The engine does need a re-build th...

TV175 S2 CYLINDER KITS
Hi All, I am going to start rebuilding a TV 175 S2 engine soon and was thinking rather than getting a re-bore done on the original cylinder, I would ask if anyone has had any experience with the various standard kits that are available? I have only found an iron cylinder kit for the longer con-rod T...

Re: Help with LD "floppy" gear selection
I have managed to get the gearbox off of the engine after having to strip lots of parts off of the engine to get it to tilt forward more. The missing part ie the roller wheel and arm was lying in the gearbox housing. Question one - how ever did it come off in the first place? (held in place by split...

Calling all LD experts
Hi all LD fans, I have managed to butcher the needle roller bearing that sits in the torsion bar link to the engine. It is on the end of the engine link that fixes on to the frame itself. I have measured the pin that goes through the bearing and have measured the the bore of the link, but they seem ...
