Re: Progressive Springs
I am not a physicist but there are principles called Hooke's Law and spring constants. Shouldn't matter which way the springs go in. But like I said before though, it would seem silly to think that you would get the same results if the two were put in in opposite directions.

Re: Progressive Springs
I am curious as well. The MB springs that I have appear as though they have the same gaps toward both ends with larger gaps towards the middle. Also, as far as the original question goes, there were some people on another board that more or less proved that it wouldn't matter which way the springs ...

Re: Chain case studs comming loose
i eventually cured this problem by using heavy duty loctite with extra long bolts run up till they bottom out then tighten up to bracket with nut using the loctite then lock that one with another nut again using the thread lock, also put large washers between spacers and bracket and lock nuts and br...

Are you sure...
Just to confirm, I've sprung a leak and I found this pool of petrol sitting around the seam of the tank. Everywhere above the seam on the tank is dry. There's a fair bit leaking down the inside of the casing. I take it the seams gave way somewhere? http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/3246/leakg.jpg ...

Re: ScootRS remade disc brakes
If you are are talking about the Innocenti copy, I have one. I haven't installed it yet though. I will say that it looks good. I dry fitted it then completely stripped it to get it ready for paint. The two biggest improvements that I see are the stainless steel disc pins and the disc itself. The ca...

Re: New SIL GP200 motor question
I was planning on rebuilding everything except the top end for this first pass. Now it looks like I will need to do that as well. I will know more about if it had been bench tested once I pull the head. It may not have been though because from what I can see of the piston it looks pretty clean. It ...

New SIL GP200 motor question
I am working on stuffing a stock off-the-shelf SIL GP200 motor into a Series III frame. When checking the motor over before I install it I fond that the piston only has the top ring in place and the grooves for the lower two rings are very shallow. I haven't pulled the clylinder, so I was only look...

Re: Chrome ring advice please
If you actually get a headset bottom for an LI 150 Special it would be for a chrome ring frame. If you get the later SX style headset bottom it will be for a non-chrome ring frame. Legshields are the same for both if I am not mistaken. Bottom line is that you will have a pretty unsightly gap if you ...

Re: Stator / Regulator question
Forgot to post here. I have the 120 watt BGM stator that actually outputs 90 watts from what I gather. I have a regulator that is rated for 225 watts max. The total wattage draw for my headlight, tail light, and horn will likely be less than 90 watts. So, my stator outputs enough wattage to do what ...
