Re: Nasty engine noise, that goes when clutch pulled in ?!?!
J Also noted that the gear cluster floats backwards and forwards on the input shaft by about .4mm; this is with either both casings put together, or just looking at it with the flywheel side taken off. Maybe this bit of floating is correct and required??!! Both the bearing and the needle rollers we...

Made it to IOW and back no probs, but rattle is horrible :| clutch on smallie has its own bearing as clutch is not directly on the cran...

the back hole is plugged right? 55/160 is stock idle for a 24/24 on a 200cc. plug the back hole if it is not already done.cit205 wrote:Thanks ,it's running ok at the moment with a drilled air filter and 55 pilot with the hole ,i have cleaned the other carb and and filter and stored them for now.

Re: Nasty engine noise, that goes when clutch pulled in ?!?!
As the subject line states, built up a T5 engine for a friend, where the gearbox had broke, so replaced the cluster and loose gears for a 2nd hand set (which looked in very good condition), but it's got this weird clunking noise on tickover in neutral, which goes away when I pull the clutch in?!?! ...

Re: kickstart problem
Hopefully it will just be a clutch issue, i'm still building things up after a full resto. i hope it's not a cracked chain case! Cheers for the info. did you use a new kickstart shaft? there are GP and Li versions, gp ones will rub on the clutch and cause it to feel "mushy". if its an Li ...

Also ,they run a 50 pilot with the air filter without the holes drilled in the 'heart' shape press above the jets , if i was to run a 55 pilot an...

Re: will T5 engine slide straight into a GL frame???
might need to remove carb and box to get engine in, then put box and carb back on...markauk wrote:does anyone know if this is a straight swap ??
also might need longer spacer at top of rear shock, PX engines used the longest spacer.
