If cables wrong way then u would know as gears would be wrong way round. Ie pull back and you would be able to rotate thru 2nd 3rd and 4th

Had this on an old dragster of mine......... Assuming that you have bled it properly, even when hot you should be able to run it with rad cap off.........should be fine.........any sign of too much pressure and blowing off caps, hoses (that's what it did with mine as they were external non kink ones...
