Re: Alternative sought..
I think that somewhere along the line there has been some bodging done, probably just before I bought it. The key way is really worn so it looks like a GP crank is the order of the day plus a new fly wheel again as they don't appear to be compatable, maybe I could put the flywheel on e bay, only don...

Re: Alternative sought..
No not quite, oh if it was so simples, the slot in the crank shaft is too big and worn so the key keeps slipping and letting the flywheel move out of place

Alternative sought..
Hi, I'm so pleased that after all these years, about 30, that I went back to scootering. Having replaced most of the electrics on my SX200 including flywheel, it now seems that the 40p worth of steel on the end of the crank doesn't like it's new home as it's a tadge too big in the slot. This meens t...

Re: Wont Start!
Well, after examination by Kevin the expert, it appears that after my attempts to adjust the clutch it didnt have a very good kick due to adjusting incorrectly (sorry didnt tell you about that bit as I didnt think it was connected) The sx then started, for 30secs then the flywheel fell off!!! It app...

Re: Wont Start!
I would say that the engine was rebuilt about 10 years ago. The engine is painted red but its pealing. It says Chisle Speed on the rear. The head and fins look a bit naff, fins bent etc. I need to invest in a torque wrench. I think I will check the stator plate against the one I took off on the mete...

Re: Wont Start!
Hi Andy, I'm in Derby, as you say drives you mad. Only had the SX200 for about a month and its been a bit of drag so far. Looks the dogs wotsits but I'm getting a bit cheesed off now. Dont mind doing the work but stumped at all angles at the moment. Probably something really simples.

Re: Wont Start!
Where is the LT coil? The electric system is 12volt with regulator on the flywheel side and the output of the stator goes to the coil on the exhaust side, which was blue but is now a black model which is supposed to be better.

Re: Wont Start!
I did mention the compression in an earlier post, without a compression gauge I actualy think that its not very good. It kicks over very easily. I tried to get the chrome cowl off but looks like I have to remove the engine mounting to do this but I did manage to see that there is oil around what I w...

Re: Wont Start!
Yes it was a new one, still in the wrapping. Dealer on holiday until week end so I will talk to him when he gets back. At least with all the panels off it gave me a chance to give it all a good clean up. Already cost me £100 in parts, maybe just bite the bullett and pay up for a proffesional look a...
