Hi,just been out on my 2001 px 200 disc,i noticed the front brake was a bit sharp, then realised the lever was not returning back as normal and the pads were slightly on the disk,no leaks or fluid comming out anywhere????????????also should there be a tiny bit of play with the rear wheel???????,any help would be great, thanks

Sounds like the caliper pistons are sticking out and not retracting but if the lever has lost its feel the master cylinder could be blocked not allowing the fluid back. Brand new Vespas even have slight play in the rear hub but its worth retorqing every now and then as the splines can wear rapidly if the nut comes even slightly loose.

First thing to try is remove the lever making sure it is free on the pivot pin. Then refit it and see if the piston springs back out when the lever is pulled and released, then remove the master cylinder lid and the plastic and rubber inserts , pull the lever in and release you should see the fluid spurt back ( cover all paintwork first). If this looks ok remove the wheel to get the caliper off, slide something thin like a steel rule between the pads and pull the lever watching the pads trap the rule and check they retract slightly when the lever is released. If not the caliper will need a strip down, pistons removing and the seal grooves cleaning out then rebuild with a new seal kit.
