OK trying to get my knowledge up to par on Suzuki TS185 piston conversions so bare with me I have a few stupid questions

True or false: The early type Sukuzi TS185 pistons require the top piston ring peg to be relocated, but the the later TS185ER be fitted without relocating the peg correct?

Anyone have a part number for the later type? 12110-???????

What oversizes are available?

What is the piston skirt length and would it be a major hassle to reduce it to 68mm?

THANKS! :D

yep, some versions have the top peg in the wrong place. If you are not fussed about sourcing an original Suzi OEM item then why not just order yourselves one of these fella. Made by mitaka and very good quality and value for money. At least 3 oversizes too. its no hassle to shorten the skirt length.
less work to set up with a tv (116mm) or rd 400 (115mm) rod.

Thanks! Yep I'm running an RD400 rod so the TS185ER looks like a decent option.

Edit: Cheaper to buy at Beedspeed. :D
If you want best quality, try ebay.com for a Wiseco made for TS 185. I ordered some Wiseco pistons from abroad in the past, always a bargain to european market prices.

Hi VS,

You might like to try this guy at Byron's Bay. http://www.motoretro.com.au/. I recall that his name is Brett and he sounded like a diamond geezer. He fools his family on going on epic road-trip holidays, but really he is visiting old motorcycle shops to discover NOS parts.

The best piston for the conversion is 12110-29900. This has better ring pegs and cut-aways around the gudgeon pin. The rings are 12140-29010. Sadly, I know these numbers off by heart.

I'll get my anorak.

Adding a few more TS185ER part numbers to the above for future reference. The gudgeon/wrist pin for the TS185ER piston is 12151-78110 --this part number has been superseded by 12151-60D00. The 'ER' pins are 16x49.5mm (non-ER types are longer at ~53.5mm). I've also been informed that Wiseco part number S255, should fit, but have no experience. The Wiseco is 16x49.9mm
