fitting LML/Vespa pickup

If fitting an LML/Vespa type pickup to a SIL stator am I right in thinking you need to remove the top laminate otherwise the pickup catches on the flywheel?

The LML pickup I intend to use seems to be about 1mm thicker than the SIL part.

yes you will prob have to remove one or maybe two laminates..............

remove 1 to start off with and put a bit of masking tape on top of pickup and see if it scuffs otherwise it will be 2 laminates then loctite the grub screw when its perfect .

Yes. I've done a couple of those. Got away with just removing one laminate from meory.
