Gary mate, if you give me till the weekend I will climb up into the loft and measure one of mine (Indian GP frame), but I will have to wait till the BOSS is out of the house. I Dont think she knows about my secret stash of scooter bits in the loft yet!!!gusggl wrote:I am cutting down a li 150 s3 frame and putting GP forks and legsheilds on.

Mark...
Meaured my GP frame it was 14.5 inches without bearing cups, the LI one that I have measured 15.5 inches without bearing cups.
i can tell you there is 20mm difference in the lenght of th the non crome ring forks and 29mm on the chrome ring ones
ive done a few conversions up and down , sometimes the lower bearing cup varies in depth so this can add or minus a few mm to the over all lenght this can normaly be soeted by the slots in the legshild fixing hole being moved one way or the other the most extream case was to gring a few mm of the bottom og a gp headset so it didnt catch and left a very small gap which looked nice .
make sure you put a sleeve in there say 200mm long and drill the frame tubb with 2 10mm holes in both parts so you can plug weld the sleeve to the frame tube , the sleeve will if tight enough fully support the bit you are joining back on if its a vey tight fit ie needs a soft mallet to tap the top on you can fit the forks in and try them also dummy fit the leggies and horncast plus the headset bottom
ohh and good luck and remember to measure twice cut once

We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm
A handy tip for cutting fork tube square ,clean all paint off and fit a jubilee clip and cut to that ,top cup will need turning on a lathe to fit
