RB rings..?

brought some new rings for my RB20 and when fitting have found they are the wrong shape. The ends of the ones that came out were cut on the diagonal and have a slight champfer running round thye length of the ring. The replacements have square ends with a notch and no champfer and wont sit in the groove. I suspect my piston is one of the early ones (asso?) and the rings i have are for the later ones (vertax?)

Any one shed any light on this?

send them back. the ones that came out are rienecker rings (trapezoidal) the ones sent sound like barrel ground. not interchangeable. RB20" s changed piston, was it a yamaha blaster piston or something like that?

So are the old rings worn out? If so what mileage did you do on them?
