silent block probs

my Italian GP keeps eating chaincase side engine mounts, today i have replaced for third time in 3 months, with a genuine SIL silent block from scooter restos, rode 5 miles and as before the engine bolt is tearing the rubber as it wants to rise to the 12 o'clock position.
it's the original engine case in the original frame with original bolt, the innocenti blocks were not too bad considering their age when i started restoring, could the cones need changing?

It shouldn't keep doing that though, should it? Are you sure your frame is not twisted or anything?

no probs with frame, scoot had done a genuine 6,000kms from new, all was fine as original, re geared, casa 185 , etc lots of torque and then this problem, the engine bolt was a fecker to remove as never moved in 40 years so cones probably shagged also, i'll replace bolt and cones i think......

I was told point blank by a Casa dealer that the Casa mounts will fail if used in tuned motors.

where can you buy polyurethane or urethane resin mix to '70 shore a' specification, cus we could all make our own from our old mountings

If there is a slight alignment problem causing this then maybe offset cones twisted opposite directions to each other might solve it ?

I had the same problem with my RB untill I fitted the extra length one on the chaincase side. You can get the kit from Andy Francis which includes 2 mounts (one is longer) A longer engine bolt and nuts. Been in 9 months now with no problems.
