Cant turn the stator more than 25º!

Hi.
Like i say in this post i have a problem of pre-ignition in my engine:
http://scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic ... =20#p68938
After check the ignition i see with the timing light that the problem is that the marks of the flywheel or the stator are wrong and i have 30º and not 18º like i think.
Then if i turn the stator to the right at maximun i have 25º and i cant have the 18º that i want.
Someone know if the problem is flywheel, stator, CDI, Regulator or other thing?
I have MB 2kg and welded flywheel + 120w stator + Ducati CDI and Regulator.
Thanks!

Have you checked your TDC and are you using a strobe?

Check as Surfer says timing marks and strobe on these marks, some strobes have an adjustable dial to check advance, make sure it's set to Zero first.
SIL GP electronic flywheels are usually well within tolerance to set the timing to 18 degrees, is it an SX boss on the flywheel? As I have seen these well out of line, making the correct timing hard to achieve.
Other than that, I have no clue what is the cause. Hope you fix it

This is a common problem of 'copy' Indian ignitions where the flywheels have been incorrectly manufactured - see first pic on page 109 of Complete Spanners manual.

I doubt if it's one of those though as he said it's a MB flywheel. That with a BGM stator suggests to me that it's more likely the timing marks are wrong.

Are you using the MB Timing Disc?
Is it me being a thicko

or is this misleading:
I fell foult o it the other month marking my BTDC clockwise to TDC because of this disc (schoolboy error I know but...)

Yes. TDC with piston stoper.

I do the process of TDC and marks two times, and the marks are correct.
The boss is a GP one with the AF RB crank.
The strobe is a simple one only with the light, dont have to check the advance.

Yes i know, i must compare the one of the book with my flywheel to see that is correct.

Maybe i am wrong, but i have do it two times, first when i rebuild the engine and second today with the same result
