BGM FRONT DAMPERS

Does anybody know how to stiffen the BGM front dampers up, they seem to bottom out on the rubbers even when the are one click away from the hardest setting anyone had similar problems.

the bottoming out is the springs not the dampers. the dampers just slow the whole process down and stop rebound bounce.

you will want the forks to bottom out at some point, it means that you are using all of your travel. dont be fooled by people going on about stiffening springs and adding pre load so they are rock hard.

mbd springs seem good, i had taffspeed ones before and despite being hard they bottomed out as they were shorter.

my moaning was that they damped too much on compression so the other way round

I don't seem to have had a problem in the past with standard chrome dampers or various others that i was aware of ,it just seems that you can compress these by hand really easy compared to others,might have to have a look at the springs.

yes with different internal bushes/or yours drilled out to suit ,if you want standard FAT dampers there being remade and buzzsolomoto has/had them in stock there not shown on his web site though

or theres the SPAX adjustable conversion which i believe is around £40 so a very cost effective option

I believe the next production run of bgm dampers will accommodate the larger serveta studs. Don't quote me on that though.

have you turned the nurled wheel to stiffen them? mine took a lot of effort to compress not like a bike pump

They don't damp on compression . . . if they do you'll end up with the links snapping as they aren't designed to handle the stress of compression damping. The ones Corrado had were showing next to no resistance on compression.
