Building an engine in an Li150 case, may end up with a kit top end (RT/RB/Mugello etc). Obviously I'll be upgrading the crank to GP spec, and it just so happens I have a spare brand new SIL crank which came out of a new SIL 200 engine.
Would you:
a) get the big end upgraded on the GP crank? (If so who does this and how much?)
b) get an Italian race crank? (which is what I've always done previously)

All comments gratefully received as usual :) :) :)

Cheers,

Nigel

I'd imagine most reputable tuning shops will be able to help you.
Harry Barlow at Pro Porting in Leicester has a decent name for rebuilding cranks and his costs are very reasonable in my experience.

Thanks for the replies guys 8-)

I e-mailed Martin at Chisel Speed after your post Sean and have now got a great selection of costed options including different con-rod lengths to choose from.
I need to do some research now into the pros and cons of engines fitted with 107/110/115 length rods :bouncing:

And then there's the "which top end" question

It started out as "I'll just clean up that spare engine over the winter...." to quite an interesting project!

Cheers,

Nigel
