Just wanted to say that I installed one of the MBD race-tour remade layshafts. The craftsmanship on this layshaft is amazing.
The layshaft fit perfect, and the gearbox shifts great.

How much are they? and do they make any diffrence when selecting gears or is it just a case of they look nice and shiney MB stylie...

They are ~ 80 gbp. I actually noticed that my gearbox operation was smoother and quieter (although the reduced noise was probably due to a re-shim). What was also really impressive was the quality of the hub-receiving splines on the shaft.
One thing I might request from MBD though is a 1/2'd or 2/3'd final drive pulling sleeve, I have noticed that on new rear-hub bearings, you can't always get the layshaft in the bearing far enough (without whacking it with a rubber mallet) to get enough threads through the pulling sleeve to pull layshaft in all the way. A 1/2'd or 2/3'd would be great.

i had to cut a couple of different length tubes to use as spacers, so i could get the layshaft in as it was real nice and tight on the bearing

Mine's far too nice to go sticking it in a grubby Lambretta engine, It's now in the showcase with the Lladro.

Have one in my bike, it kept jumping out of gear in 3rd on dyno so put a stronger spring in and it seems fine now but a nice bit of kit.
