Tried everything and getting no nearer to sorting my carb problem out..

i know i've mentioned this before but have come to a brick wall

I've got two keihin pwk 28/30mm carbs i've been playing with... both oko copies... one of them came off a running scooter
rubber mounted..
scooter idles fine 42 pilot.
soon as i take the choke off it eventually dies

now i'm thinking of something like an air leak as it dies if i use the throttle..

whats the best way to check........wd40????

sorry about bringing this up again any help would be great........

Have you thought about maybe going the Dellorto route Lee..? there doesnt seem to be a lot of experience around with these carbs, well not up to now..just had a look around the forum and seen a few set ups for 28/30mm dells so maybe give up the fight and trade up for a dell Lee...gets you on the road buddy, hope someone comes along with some advice mate..

It has to be something really simple... the carbs have been cleaned ultrasonically and with compressed air...
i feel i have to look at every option as its money spent on jets manifold carbs etc..
i feel it may be time to put the lot on ebay and do what you said LAM46

I'd get it set up on a dyno, it's cheaper than a new carb.

What needle are you using?

Does it run OK with the choke on?

Does adjusting the clip position on the needle make any difference.

My money is still on it being a blockage of some sort. Rather than an airline, use a wd40 or similar spray with a long nozzle and squirt it down all the orifices and check that something comes out of the other end.

It would need to be a fairly monumental airleak for it to die just reving it on the stand.

Lee, did you follow my reply on this carb problem on your previous post? Can you see light through the tiny hole in the carb next to the main jet (pilot hole)? Did you melt off the float stop in the bottom of the float bowl? I've got the 24mm OKO carb on mine and had to do the above. PM me if you need any more advice.
