Just re-packed an exhaust end can and wondered if there are any special rivets required to put it back together? Or if there is any other way of doing it to make future re-packs any easier?
Thanks.

When I got a re-pack kit from Cam LAm, it came with some heavy duty rivets. They were like normal pop rivets, but you couldn't see the knob on the top of the rivet. They have stayed in place.

They look like this:

You can buy them at Screwfix

I use heavey duty stainless rivits from a place called mattesons in Coventry. They need either a pnumatic riviter or one of those big scissor type rivitors to fit them though.

I use the same but too be honest this is my life failing on Lamies.
Ask everybody in our club they use crash helmet not because its the Law but also
because of my flying tailpipes cant seen to keep them on.

But saying that Ive got a Vespa Sterling end can modified to fit on reflections ,and this has stayed on the longest of any.
By the way Ive used PM, NK, Scorpions, JL's all types of exhausts.

A tip I have now been told is to heat up the rivot before fitting.
This apparently lets you put more pressure on the crimp as the tail stretches slightly before you get the snapping off

Smiffy

I remember Graham Best telling me that he once has a scooter in at kegra. The entire chain case was secured with wood screws and rawplugs.
