getting panels to fit

Just about to have my panels vented and painted but thought i would check for fit before starting. Yeah you guessed it, they no longer sit right in fact they wont sit on the lip at the back when the front parts on and vice versa. I suspect this may have happened the last time i had them on. Thge right hand side one came loose and swung behind me still attached by the handle and was dragged down the road sparking away like somthing out of an old Flash Gordon film....

Anyone know if theres anyone out there who straightens panels or can reccomend ways that i can do it myself. They did fit they just dont now....

Had a similar problem with a set of TV/SX panels, I simply twisted them prior to painting, until they sat right.

The panels should sit flat when laid on a table or big enough workbench (inner side down). If they are twisted, you might be able to gently flex them back straight. Just try doing it a bit at a time, until they lay flat. May work

Any chance you've had neff up the rear at some stage? The panels on my jet don't too well either another thought, do yo have panel buffers fitted?

No panel buffers fitted yet. will try the flex method i think. mate will come round over weekend and try his one on. at least that waqy ill know it the panel and not the loop...

Syd, you need to try it with the edging rubber on and the panel buffers fitted. If you put one panel on and pull outwards where the buffer would be you will notice how much the panel shortens.
