Hi.
Trying to help out a mate with his engine!
Just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a decent 175 kit either cast iron or alloy with repectable porting a reasonable piston and above all else the correct piston, bore clearances.
I've already sent 2 back to dealers because they were'nt right.
After looking at pretty much everything available at Wickstead I,m begining to think a lot of people are producing these kits with no real standard to them.
The other alternative I have is to find someone who can rebore, make good the porting and supply an oversize piston for the one he already has.
Help appreciated as I'm all out of ideas

Was Harry Barlow not there with some?
My formula is to take an Italian barrel to him already bores to 62mm with a .004" clearance. He does a light porting job on it.
Marry this up with a clubman and a 24mm pwk copy through the airbox and you have 10hp and a power curve that follows a P200E with sito+ like they were the same bike.
If you put a foam filter on and a JL3 you'l get 12-13hp. Very useable and reliable.
I always use Asso pistons and not the marhle ones because the rings are much better.

I tend to use Mahle pistons but like Diablo I don't use the rings, usually use TS1 rings. Harry is most definitely your man.

Do you have a contact for Harry Barlow?

Cheers
