I had an oval feeling rear hub [ramp

], so i bought a new one to replace it [fa italia] but it still feels oval when braking, so i replaced the shoes, and the same again, not as bad, but the same
is there an idiots guide to setting up the rear shoes so that they both brake equally to get rid of this oval feeling?
cheers

Your Ramp hub, is only suitable for throwing at someone you don't like and your FA hub has built-in factory out-of-roundness,shame tho' resonably soild otherwise.
This is a suitable option;

i dont think its the hub to blame, more the brake shoes
whats the best way to skim them without a skimming tool ?

you could use the old trick of sticky back sandpaper stuck onto hub lining.......and work it around shoes..........

cut some windows in your old Ramp hub and use it to see what the shoes are doing. I know you said it was a bit oval, but it'll still give you an idea what's going on inside. and is the only thing a Ramp hub is any good for.
It can be quite surprising how little of the shoe makes contact until you start to shape them to fit
