I'd like to fit an inline filter possibly glass but one that won't restrict flow, can anyone recommend one?

I'm changing the tank Sean, putting a new tap in that will have a gauze but my mikuni has nothing, I just wanted to keep an eye on what comes out of the tank for a few hundred miles or so.

You could try a longer clear petrol pipe with a loop that sits lower than normal, any crap that goes through settles in the low point in the pipe which will be visible, this way you wont restrict the fuel flow, and you can also see if the fuel line has remained clean.

Not a very good idea, it will end up in your engine at some point.
It's a closed system and the only way out is into your carb.

i use this one with 8mm fuel pipe instead of 6mm .my theory is more fuel in lets more out into carb.

Dazza, have a look at item number on ebay, these are what i use on mine after a mate of mine had run one for over a year, keep away from the ones with a paper fillter, i did a test on them and found a reduced flow as the tank empty,d, infact the flow would stop with a couple of ltrs left in the tank, not so with the ebay ones, they have a solid fillter made up of hundreds of little bronze balls.

Scootrs do a filter you put in the tank inlet when filling up, you'd be surprised how much crap it stops from gettin into the tank in the first place :o only a couple of quid too :) I think an inline filter, no matter how good, will, and have done, restrict fuel, especially when it gets a bit clogged and the only way you will know it's clogged hurtling along at speed is when you seize? Just my thoughts on the subject. :bald: Hope this helps :)
