Currently using a standard 4 plate clutch with up rated springs in my TS1..but suffering from clutch drag at about 7000 rpm......can anyone recommend a tried and tested clutch set up?

can you define the difference between clutch drag and clutch slip?

Do you mean clutch slip at 7000 rpm in fourth, if you do then that was my problem when I first opened my TS1up for the first sustained ride at speed.
The Taffspeed five plate conversion including modified cutch sprocket sorted the slipping but the set-up on mine dragged when holding the clutch in once the clutch got hot.

The same set up with a Foxhat spider works fairly well.

But the MB clutch sprocket worked better giving more free movement for the plates than with the modified standard sprocket.
Its now got six plates instead of five Running with the MB sprocket and Foxhat spider. No slip or drag.

But there are other choices of clutch that are well up to the job. Others will chip in soon I hope.

marc,how thick are the plates both steels and corks?what colour are the corks?

Joe the Taffspeed clutch I bought used five corks approx 2.5mm and four steels 1.5mm thick, the first steel has the Tangs bent up. The overall thickness is approx 19mm i will try to upload a photo of the clutch as it's out of the engine.
The Foxhat is in with the MB clutch sprocket but it has six thin green Surflex plates in with five flat (no bent tangs) steels which are 1.5mm thick. I think the cork plates were 2.5mm but I'm not 100% sure but I will find the notes I scribled and let you know.
If I can I will add the photo of the Taffy clutch.

See corrado he has the impressive Lth clutch or try Mr Broadhurst

our racer uses the Foxhat six plate and is perfect........clutch lever feels lighter than a std one.

Just fitted one to Mels TV2 as Sean says very light action, the clutch can be pulled in with one finger.
If it's as good as the others I've fitted it will be good to go.
