I suspect depth will be your problem, they're much deeper than a genuine Smiths speedo and that's tight on a SX headset.

yes you can but - as soulsurfer said they are deeper - i`ve just finished one - had to make the ali ring on the headset top deeper and get the angle right and modify the headset bottom clamp to route the cable - had to faff about with the cable abit but you can use a standard indian gp/sx type
sorry no photo`s top is at painters and clamp at powder coaters
all in all in looks okay for the cost - jet headset was laying around in garage, top modified inc ali ring £40.00, speedo £20 + cable and a bit of garage time + paint - will end up been no more £90.00

Really like the idea of doing my sx 150 as an S type how hard are original Smith Speedo's to get ? I guess they need to be modified and calibrated ?

it has to be re-calebrated to suit a10inch wheel...then a modified lambretta cable can be used to suit your scootrs disc....i basically glued some shims onto the the speedo end of the lambretta cable to allow the cable to drive it....at least thats what i did on my s type replica
