Legshield Toolboxes...

...I hate fitting them.

Sorry, had to moan.

The grinding and filing is a pain in the arse.

I'm planning to get one but will pay somebody to do it after reading what a fiddly job it is... Thanks for helping reconfirm that decision !

....and don't forget the bit where you've just about got it filed down to fit nicely, only to find that when you put the rubber seal around the toolbox and offer it up to the legshields, it no longer fits, with gaps appearing again.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Didn't Martin (Corrado) put up athread with a step by step guide how he did it? Might be worth a search Bilkers and save you a bit of trouble ;) :lol:

A handy trick when working with sheet metal is to place CardBoard along the edges make the cut in the card first It helps with deciding where or where not to cut when you attack the metal.

Is there anyone that use a legshield toolbox (even modified) as spare wheel holder? Or is it impossible due to the limited space for legs?

I keep thinking leg shield toolbox as i have a long range diablo tank with a small toolbox but not sure if it would look right on my series 3, what is the best sort to look out for (money no object Cezeta is my sponsor) Image
and then where to put the spare wheel

one of those px type toolboxes & a flat spare wheel carrier with the bolt on rack aka the mike phoenix type . it's alright no need to thank me, i just like helping :)
