5-plate clutch slip

My suspicions were confirmed regarding my newly built 240. After grinding a bit off the kickstart shaft just in case it was rubbing the top plate, the clutch still slips like a slippy thing once the engine gets hot. ARSE!
Is anyone else running a high powered (22 BHP or greater) set up with a standard SX200 box with 15x46 sprockets? If so, what clutch did you use. Mine's a JB 5-plate.

Sounds like mine. Once the power kicks in at around 65 - 70 in top it just gives up.
My brother in law raves about the Camlam 6 plate easy pull fitted to his RB22 but he's running a GP200 box which is much more clutch friendly.

well im lazy, the camlam one was rumoured to need fettling/thowing in anger........so i went for the more expencive fit and forget one. mb have a nice one out now at a similar price or the fox hat one too.
being fair to camlam they may have sorted theirs now

Tries a 5 plate years ago on a TS1 and could never get it sorted. Bit the bullet when engine was reworked and got a MB 6 plate..never looked back, like a standard P2 clutch and never a hint of slip on a 23hp 230 TS.

I can recommend the new MB clutch , i run it with 5 full thickness surflex plates and with the mb springs and nylon cable is a proper 2 finger clutch ( if that lights ya candle lol

)
Can also be used as a 6 plate but obviously need thinner plates and steels .

Ref Readspeed clutch. There was a problem with the top hats last year,or try using a softer compound plate. The camlam plates are softer.

I think the Camlam is around £290 same as Readspeed. The Readspeed one is slipping on mine at top end.I am just about to try the GT R Taylor in mine. If that dont work then i will try the LTH or AF's
